I spent much of yesterday afternoon lingering in the hog pens. There’s something therapeutic about being out there and it’s just the comfort I needed the night before heading out for a week and a half. I also applied the temporary tattoos that came with my ONE briefing package to The Small Humans — figuring it’ll be about the time they wear off that I’ll be on my way home — made dinner with The Man, and spent a good bit of the evening cuddling with The Pig Dog tucked into the nook between me and the back of the sofa.
If I weren’t in the right frame of mind for this journey before, I am now. And I have much to be grateful for:
1. Improbable Opportunities
2. Remarkable Women.
3. Sumac Leaves. They’re the most beautiful red I’ve ever seen.
4. Harvest Season.
5. Squash.
Next time you hear from me it’ll be from halfway around the world. Until then, tell me what Little Things you’re grateful for this week.

I am so grateful for my husband and friends, who have been so supportive of me in the midst of my panic attacks this week
